New Venue Features at Brandywine & How to Use a Firepit at Your Wedding

Say hello to our new fire pit! Constructed out of local stone and complete with hand-built, rustic wood benches, this is the perfect place to relax by the fire and take in the scenery after your ceremony. Whether you want the firepit to be the centerpiece of your reception, or another area for your guests to gather and relax away from the dance floor,  paired with our woody landscape and twinkling string lights, this new addition will provide a cozy mood to the venue.

Warm up during your fall or winter wedding, give your guests some blankets, grab come hot chocolate, and get cozy; or enjoy a woodsy, summer bonfire with a cold beer or signature drink. Whatever the season, our fire pit will be a fun and toasty addition to your event.

Wondering how to incorporate a bonfire at your event? Here are some of our favorite ideas and tips on how to best use the fire pit:

• If the fire pit will be a major feature of your fall or winter event, offer your guests treats and favors centered around it. Plaid blankets are the perfect accent to the rustic benches, and a s’mores bar with a variety of chocolates, marshmallows, and toppings can complement your dessert or snack table.
• In the summer, set up a treat table near the firepit to help your guests cool off. An ice cream bar and a cold glass of lemonade or iced tea are great complements to a summer bonfire.
• Use the space as a small getaway from the main event. Encourage your guests to relax with a drink by the fire when they take a break from dancing, and position your DJ booth and dance floor at the opposite end of the reception area to create a private, quiet space to wind down and have a conversation.
